Breastmilk is the Ideal Nutrition
It not only meets their needs for calories, fats, proteins and micronutrients; it also provides the best support to the baby's developing microbiome and it supports bonding and attachment.

But knowing this isn't enough to meet your lactation goals.  The primary causes of cessation of breastfeeding include:
  • Difficulty / Inconvenience
  • Return to Work
  • Illness / Medication
  • Perception of Low Milk Supply
  • Effort associated with pumping

Stefanie has been an invaluable asset to me as a new mom.  She's helped me navigate getting support for my baby's tongue, lip and cheek ties, as well as fast let-down.  Because of Stefanie's support I've found ways to maintain my milk supply with a good pumping schedule as I returned to work.

Katie K.
Nurse Practitioner
First time mom, breastfeeding her 5 month old.

Stefanie was able to support me after coming home from a 5 week hospital stay followed by our son being in the NICU 2 weeks as a preemie.  She was able to help us navigate exclusive pumping to 11 months and use bottles and feeding techniques for our baby with reflux.  When it was time to wean from pumping Stefanie provided tips to avoid clogged ducts as well as process through the emotions of the experience.  Her advanced training in oral tethers and infant reflux were extremely valuable to us.

Pediatrician
First time mom

Stefanie is so knowledgable about all things babies and breastfeeding.  As a mom to triplets, I didn't plan to exclusively breastfeed.  With Stefanie's support I was able to pump even with two older children and she facilitate connections that allowed us to offer our babies donor milk for the majority of their first year.

Here's why you want to learn this from me

Doula, Night Nanny, Mom of 5

I became a mom in 13 years ago.  After a beautiful, empowering and exhausting birth I experienced primary lactation failure.

I didn't even know that was a thing.  I spent the next two years dedicated to understanding why no IBCLCs, Midwives or Doctors could help me overcome my milk supply issues.

13 years later I've
  • Learned the milk supply equation
  • Learned how to troubleshoot the more rare causes of supply issues
  • Supported 26 moms in labor and immediate postpartum, mot of whom returned to work.
  • Taught a dozen midwives and doulas how to recognize low milk supply issues that can't be fixed with "bring baby to breast"
  • Taken advanced training in infant reflux
  • Taken advanced training in oral tethers
  • Worked with 3 families (6 babies) postpartum
  • Breastfed my five children for 138 months combined.

I can help you prepare to meet your breastfeeding goals.

What are your qualifications?
The most important qualification I have is not a licensure or certification (though I do have some good ones!) It's that I experienced primary lactation failure and despite having no knowledge of my risk factors, a medical team that didn't know how to improve my milk supply and extremely limited financial resources at the time: I learned everything I could about breastfeeding, hormones and other obstacles to exclusive breastfeeding.

I've been teaching doulas and midwives about how to identify the difference between "normal" causes for milk supply since 2013 and supporting birth and postpartum clients for 12 years.

Stefanie has been a certified Birth Doula since 2012.
An infant massage and early bonding specialist since 2012.
A fertility massage specialist since 2014.
A Newborn Care Specialist since 2022.
A Full-Spectrum (fertility, loss, pregnancy, birth and postpartum) Doula since 2022.
I was a licensed and board certified massage therapist from 2009-2021.
