These are very common myths in our society, and as evidence based & intutive moms and doulas we know that they are myths. However, it's not common knowledge in the general public, even amongst obstetricians, pediatricians and grandparents.
Not understanding these myths can have severe consequences: such as elecrolyte imbalance in babies, dehydration, failure-to-thrive and can also lead to problems like clogged ducts, mastitis and cessation of lactation, birth trauma and unnecessary medical interventions.
